The Last Con Man
What it is. A Hindi crime drama about a retired con man who now lies for justice. Each case is one story in four parts, and every target is a white-collar crook who runs on trust: a charity thief, a builder who sells one flat many times, a fake police video call. Season One is five chapters. Chapter 1, The Surat Debt, is told in four episodes: The Briefcase, The Mark, The Tell and The Last Con.
Vikram Rao. Late sixties, soft-spoken, and the best impersonator the trade ever had. He sells old books from a narrow shop in Panjim, Goa, and carries a battered leather folder everywhere. He lied for a living, and he still carries guilt for the Surat fraud that ruined people and got a friend blamed. When the past walks in with a briefcase, he puts on a stranger's face once more, this time as Arvind Nair, a stiff, polite Geneva auditor.
Who is who
- Meera Sen. Arrives as the daughter of the ruined Anand Sen. In truth she was Kapoor's own head of treasury for six years, and she turned his plan back on him. Controlled, precise, grief held under the surface.
- Dhruv Kapoor. The celebrated philanthropist and the mark. Grew up modest in Pune, built a logistics firm from one truck, and learned that people trust a warm voice and a visible good deed. He is secretly broke, has stolen the Foundation's 312 crore and built a trap to frame Vikram. He always pours tea for others first, and touches his watch when a lie is coming.
- Joseph D'Souza. Vikram's old forger from Margao, seventy, gravelly, dry-humoured, with a loupe on a cord. Loyal and sharp, and the one the frame was meant to destroy.
- Zoya D'Souza. Joseph's granddaughter, a fearless, sarcastic hacker in Andheri who trusts screens more than people. She trusts her grandfather and, slowly, Vikram.
- Savitri Kapoor. Kapoor's eighty-one-year-old mother. Slow, gentle, and she sees more than she says. She is the one person who unsettles her son, and she is present when he is exposed.
- ACP Anjali Deshmukh. An officer of the Economic Offences Wing and the daughter of a clerk cheated of his pension. She keeps Vikram's old Surat file on her desk. She recognises him under the disguise and lets the moment play out, unsure whether she has caught a criminal or met an ally.
- Pinto. Never seen on screen. Vikram's bookkeeper from the Surat days, a careful man who wrote down every job, name and method in a cloth-bound ledger and a diary. He is long gone from Vikram's life, but his diary survived. Kapoor used it to copy Vikram's old tricks and to pick the name to frame, and Meera knew about it. That is why his notebook matters more than he ever did.

All four scenes have real on-screen dialogue. This is generated video at 480p: one clip per line, each character alone in frame. English captions are burned in; the spoken audio is Hindi. The voices come from the video model and can't be locked exactly; Joseph's voice is deepened in editing, consistently across the series, to set him apart from Vikram. Lip sync is approximate, and a few clips may show small glitches.

Epilogue: The Surat Debt, closed
Vikram signs the form in his real name and slides it across the counter. The fan keeps turning, the pen scratches, and for the first time in forty years nobody is wearing a borrowed face. Kapoor's tea has gone cold. Savitri has said the one true thing in the room. Whatever the court decides, the debt from Surat is paid in the only currency Vikram never counterfeited: the truth.
The Last Con Man will be back with Chapter 2, The Flat That Wasn't. A new crook, a new face, the same soft voice before the lie.
